What I'm practicing / studying:
Currently in first year Medicine at CNM - to be studying Naturopathic Nutrition following this and then...who knows? I have also done my Reiki 1, which I have not been using professionally, but do use on family and friends and I intend to go further with this when the time is right.
About Me:
I am a 40 year old (scarey - not me, the age that is!) mother of 2 lovely (cheeky) girls and I work part-time as a creche assistant as well as a small cleaning job and looking after my 3 year old, Florence, on a full-time basis. Emily is 6 now, so she is at school for most of the day. My partner is Stu and he's slightly younger and a carpenter by trade. Our lives are really busy with work, the children, the children's hobbies, house and garden and now (for me anyway) this college malarkey!
The reasons I have started on this course are No 1 because I want my children to be as healthy as possible, but also for them to grow up knowing what a really healthy lifestyle is all about for themselves. I can't ensure this happens unless I am knowledgeable enough myself on the subject and I found that there is so much conflicting information out there that I really needed to find a way of focussing and harnessing it all. The course at the CNM seemed the perfect answer to this conundrum. No 2 I would like to be in a position to help other people to achieve maximum health through lifestyle changes, focussing particularly (initially, anyway) on nutrition. This said, I am really open to any effective complementary treatments and dabble at home with homeopathy, herbs and aromatherapy. No 3 I think that society generally is becoming more attuned to natural lifestyles and I would love to be a position where I was able to share really useful knowledge with both like-minded people and the bemused, so those that wanted to could help themselves!
