contributors for article in Mother and Baby - "kitchen cupboard cures"

Hi, a good friend of mine is a free-lance journalist and has asked me for her help with a brief she is currently working on, and I wondered whether any of you guys might be able to help her too.

I have copied her email to me (below). If you are interested in contributing or even being featured, her email is gailtitchener@hotmail.com or I can let you have her telephone number if you would prefer.

Thanks Clare

I've been commissioned to write a feature for Mother & Baby about how you don’t always have to resort to the chemist to cure your child's tiny aches or niggles as there are some traditional cures mums swear by – straight from the kitchen cupboard.

eg.

Researchers in India found that a dab of honey on a scald was more effective than silver sulphadiazine, the effective ingredient in conventional burns treatment cream. Or soak a flannel in ice-cold whole milk and apply to the burn for 10 minutes at a time.

To cure hiccups try sucking on a slice of lemon – the sharp surprise of something sour can make lips pucker and beat hiccups. Alternatively, the process of chewing a teaspoon of peanut butter and getting it off the tongue and teeth can interrupt swallowing and breathing patterns. A scoop of ice-cream may also do the trick.

I was wondering if you would be up for helping me with this bit:

“It worked for us” 100 words
Please get quotes and pics from two mums about natural cures they swear by for their tot (under age three). The pics should be of both the mum and their tot.
